it's called membrane
i used laminate underlay (cant remember the name) but it is very thin polystyrene lined with silver foil, which tapes together to make it damproof... it was 拢2 sq metre.

Hi, It is call DMP damp proof membrane, this is used when you are laying the laminate over concrete to protect it from moisture. There are other underlays which can be laid to provide added comfort for walking and added heat and sound insulation. Some laminate floor products come with these already prefitted to the back.
