In general, ultraviolet is blocked much more by glass than by plastic. Plastics vary, but a plastic cover that thin will NOT block much UV.
We did UV bacteria killing experiments in the 1970's and just the clear glass petri dish cover blocks most of the UV effects. Is the ultra violent rays of the sun pass through the plastic copy covers sheet?please tell the answer?
Depends on the plastic and on the wavelength of the UV.
Most plastics absorb some UV which breaks some of the bonds in the plastic which then becomes brittle and collapses.
