well this is what i would do, don't lower the car just add a new front bumper or as you want to be cheap just add a front bumper wrap or you may hear it called a front wing / air dam.
alot of the time the air dam will come primed and you need someone just to paint it (sometimes comes black)
All you need is a drill and a few auto body clips ( and bolts that fit the clips)
One of my buddies just added a air dam which came black (45 plus shipping) after that he just need to add bolts.Car underbody help? looking to use plastic sheeting or something to smooth out the underbody to save gas?
I would try using sheet metal if you still have the original underbody you can just make tips on the end and pierce it into it. thats a cheap fix. for the record you can always try a cold air intake they dont cost much and it will help out as well.
i hope u rnt seriously considering adding plastic underneath ur car......
1 word......FIRE HAZARD!!!!! or is that 2 :)..... but yea don't do that now if ur talking about adding a front air dam u gonna need something stronger than poster board..... and btw most modern vehicles come wind tunnel tested from the factory... so u probably wont b improving much anyway.... and even if u do i doubt that u will actually see mpg improvements....
